Dr. Johnson-Morgan, an inspirational leader in education, advocacy, art, and spirituality, is dedicated to diversity, inclusion, equity, justice, and belonging. With degrees from prestigious institutions, she created The Global Purpose Approach to promote multicultural understanding. As an author, her works, including “Ahava,” “The Global Purpose Approach,” “Butterflies in Fields of Corn,” and “Freedom Dreams,” reflect her commitment to a more inclusive and compassionate world.Her advocacy spans mental health, economic development, and social justice, focusing on marginalized communities. 

As a Black Jewish womanist, her spiritual journey renews her connection to Judaism. Co-founder of the Multicultural Jewish Alliance, she actively engages with the Jewish community in Atlanta. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in French, Dr. Johnson-Morgan emphasizes multicultural education, striving to uplift and connect communities worldwide through service, kindness, and moral courage.

Lights dimmed, and excitement and anticipation filled the air as the Winder Public Library welcomed a full house to the latest installment of the Inspire Author Series. Presented by Dedra Walker, this event promised an unforgettable encounter with industry professional illustrator and creative force, Marcus Williams. And yes, did Marcus deliver!

If you’re an enthusiast of Anime, Sci-fi, Superheroes, Fantasy, and Video Games, Marcus Williams is your kindred spirit in the realm of creativity. His interactive talk was an immersive experience that left attendees eager for more.

As Marcus spoke, he invited us into his world—a world where imagination knows no bounds and creativity reigns supreme. From the moment he began recounting his journey from a young aspiring artist to landing his first official gig drawing the iconic PowerPuff Girls for Cartoon Network, we were captivated.

Freelance illustration work soon led Marcus to collaborate with industry giants like Marvel, Sony Pictures Animation, Warner Brothers, Nickelodeon, and Amazon. Yet, it was his venture into co-creating and publishing his own comic series, “Tuskegee Heirs: Flames of Destiny,” that truly ignited his passion.

During the presentation, Marcus demonstrated not only his artistic talent but also his ability to inspire and empower budding creatives.

Throughout the session, Marcus illuminated the foundational basics of digital art tools, techniques, and beyond. But beyond technical skills, his message resonated on a deeper level: that each of us possesses the potential to turn our passion for creativity into a fulfilling career.
