Dedra Walker, MS.Ed. is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of EmoryRose Photography, LLC. Their specialties include (but are not limited to) photography covering family, lifestyle, children portraits, corporate events, parties, sports photography, branding, and video production. Her photography has appeared in a Gwinnett County Public Library, Cigar & Spirits Magazine, several local newspapers, and various online media outlets. She works with authors, musicians, artists, as well as for-profit and nonprofit organizations to document their events.
She mentors, collaborates, and assists other photographers, including her own team. She assists, challenges, and encourages all to dream bigger. With her incorporation and fostering her love of photography in the classroom as well as her membership in the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Gwinnett Chapter of Georgia Nature Photographers Association, she is a steady and influential presence in the field of photography.
A Georgia native and mother of two (her son served in the military and her daughter attends college), she is in her 23rd year of teaching elementary school. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Early Childhood Education at Brenau University and Master’s of Science in Education: Specializing in Brain-Based Teaching at Nova Southeastern University. Given her roles as a mentor, community leader, coordinator, and public affairs officer, her recent teaching of photography classes at an area Boys and Girls Club, Inc. along with her forthcoming Photography and Media classes (at the club) help her expand her reach to students and the larger community.
Currently, she serves as the Coordinator of the Northeast Georgia Roundtable, and she is a consistent supporter of her colleagues in an array of community and interrelated endeavors. Her previous professional and community organizations includes (but not limited to serving on the Community Partner Advisory Board: Reclaim the Gwinnett Place Mall, the Vice President of the United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County; the President of Barrow County Habitat for Humanity, Inc.; and the President of The Dacula Lion’s Club.
