Community Comes Together at the Superheroes for Seniors 5K

The Superheroes for Seniors 5K Walk/Run, hosted by Mending the Gap, was a beautiful reminder of what community looks like when people come together with purpose. More than 150 participants, along with sponsors and volunteers, filled the day with energy, generosity, and compassion.

The weather couldn’t have been better as families, friends, and neighbors gathered to run, walk, and cheer each other on. It wasn’t just a fitness event — it was a celebration of community spirit and a fundraiser that directly supports vulnerable seniors in Gwinnett County. Every step taken helped provide dignity and care through essentials like hygiene products, incontinence supplies, and even pet food.

The event also highlighted the power of connection. Volunteers gave their time with heart, sponsors contributed generously, and participants showed up with smiles and determination. Award presentations recognized outstanding efforts, while sponsor booths and community networking brought people closer together.
