What inspired you to become a writer?
I’ve always believed stories have the power to teach, encourage, and transform. Writing became another way for me to extend the work I was already doing—helping people feel seen and understood. The inspiration for The True Friendship Bench came from a desire to create something that nurtures children’s emotional development and reminds them that their voices matter.
What message do you hope readers take away from your work?
I want readers to understand that being a true friend starts with empathy. When we create space for others to feel heard and valued, we build stronger relationships and healthier communities.
Describe your writing process.
This is my first book, and it began with a concept that I wanted to bring to life in a way children could understand. Writing is both a creative and reflective process for me. I start with what I know to be meaningful and then shape it into something accessible and engaging for young readers.
What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
Start where you are and don’t wait for perfection. Write what’s on your heart and trust that your voice matters. Consistency and patience are key.
What have you learned on your writing journey?
Writing is about connection. It has taught me patience, resilience, and the value of collaboration. I’ve also learned that simplicity can be powerful and timeless.
Are there any authors or creatives who have influenced your writing?
I’ve been inspired by storytellers who focus on kindness, empathy, and meaningful life lessons—especially those who create content for children that leaves a lasting impact.
